Cameron J. Cernuska named Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club September Student of the Month

Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Cameron J. Cernuska as its student of the month for September.

Son of Juliann and Steve Cernuska of Jefferson, Cameron is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where he maintains a 4.39 GPA.  He is enrolled in the WVU  Early Access College Program.

Cernuska is a member of National Honor Society, Academic League, Peer Jury, Debate Team, Southwestern Regional Science Olympiad Team and Envirothon Team. He has earned the Academic Letter, Gold Star, and Bar. Cernuska is a member of the Penn State 4.0 Club.

In July, Cernuska earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 1168 in Rices Landing, PA. For his Eagle Service Project, he chose to honor the military veterans of the American Legion Filer-Sadlek Post 954, Jefferson PA, by erecting a new monument with LED spotlight, as well as installing three new LED spotlights at the base of the existing flagpole.

Cernuska is a member of the Central Greene School District Varsity Rifle Team and a member of the golf team.

In addition, Cernuska serves as vice president of Greene County 4-H Shotgun Club and is a member of the Hunting Hills Hawkeyes Scholastic Clay Target Program.  He is a member of St. Marcellus Catholic Church.

Cernuska plans to pursue a career in chemical engineering or pharmacy.
