Backlash+Predictions

With Summerslam done and Backlash just around the corner, we have really gotten a good look at what this New Era of WWE has in store for all of us. So the big question on most wrestling fans minds are “How will Backlash stack up?” With it being the first brand exclusive pay per view in the New Era it has a lot to prove, so can they do it? Well I am here to answer that question and hopefully get a good idea on what the first brand exclusive pay per view has to offer us.

Backlash will be the first brand exclusive pay per view in the New Era and it will be given to the Smackdown brand. Now from what Smackdown has been giving us over the past few weeks the Backlash card is stacking up to be a pretty good one. With a feud for the Intercontinental Championship between the champion The Miz and his challenger Dolph Ziggler. Now these men have been getting spectacular pushes and they are looking the best they have in years. With the Miz bringing the IC title to the spotlight with his amazing mic work and all the heat he is receiving. And Dolph has been cutting great promos and just looks like a very strong face. I believe that it would be smart to give Miz the win in this one to show that he really is a credible champion and one of the only viable heels in the industry.

With the tournament for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship coming to an end we have the team of Heath Slater and Rhyno vs either The Hype Bros or The USOS in a championship match on Backlash. Now I believe the best thing to do is have Heath and Rhyno win the belts even if it is a dirty win. I believe this because of how over Heath has gotten in the past few weeks with his free agent gig giving him the belt and the SmackDown contract will be a great step forward for the WWE.

The biggest non title match will be Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. Now the WWE hasn’t been using Bray to the best of his abilities now not only is Bray a good worker in the ring he is an amazing presence on the mic. Randy has had his time in the spotlight so I believe the smartest thing to do is to have Bray go over in the match and make him look strong with a clean victory and maybe give him a title rain in the near future

The biggest match of the night will by far be the one for the WWE championship between Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles. Now Dean isn’t really the most spectacular guy to watch in the ring, but I believe that him and Styles could put on a great match just because of the pure talent that AJ brings to the ring. Now I believe that they should give AJ the win to truly make him the face that runs the place. Dean has had a very bland title run with mediocre feuds. It will be a great business decision because of just how over with the fans he is and it will make SmackDown the prominent band for now.

With all that said Backlash is looking to be a very promising first brand exclusive pay per view in the New Era. I truly believe with smart decision making WWE can really cement SmackDown as a viable show and have it stand toe to toe with Raw.
