Having a Job

During the summer I’ve been trying so hard to get a job. I applied everywhere, all the little mini stores in Waynesburg and fast food.  On the last week of school I got an interview at McDonalds on the Run. I didn’t think anything of it, I know I not the best at interviews so I was just a little hesitant.

About two weeks later I got a called from a Waynesburg number and it was McDonalds. I got the job and started that following week for orientation. My orientation was at the other McDonalds, the one up in town.  It was day one and I get there to start, the manger wasn’t there so that screwed up my day. I had to wait a week to return and start my orientation again. Turns out, I wasn’t the only one. I met Lynsie Galloway, she’s 16 and lives in Mapletown. The orientation was in the back room, we had to watch all these videos on how to prep the drinks and how to bag items. It wasn’t that bad or hard until I had to actually do it.

After my 3 day orientation I start to work. My very first day I was nervous because I didn’t know any of these people and I hardly knew Lynsie. Honestly all I had to do the first day was stock up items and make fries. After I got comfortable with that, I was showed how to make drinks and work the cash register. As of today, I’ve been working there as a cashier for 2 months and I love my crew. They are such nice and fun people to work with. Everyday there’s something new going on with our store.
