WWE 2K17 Hype Train

With the announcement of WWE 2K17 this year wrestling fans can rejoice with what is looking to be the most expansive and innovative wrestling game to date.

2K17 will be the sixth addition to the 2K series and the twentieth overall WWE produced video game. And this one is looking to be the best game in the series to date. Boasting an extensive roster of both current superstars and legends in the business with a total of 96 total active superstars, this year’s  rosters in eclipses the mear 50 that were available to play as in 2k16. This impressive roster also includes a plethora of WWE legends including Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, and even the late Eddie Guerrero. With all the the entire roster including 146 playable wrestlers making it the biggest roster in the 2K game series.

Now the roster isn’t the only thing that 2K is boasting as it will have the most fleshed out carrer mode of all of the games. With an enormous choice of customization this year and the amazing additon of the ‘promo generator’, allowing for deeper story than we have ever seen before. Wrestling fans will also get the honor of becoming a “Paul Heyman guy” in the new and improved career mode. This career mode is really looking like it will let all wrestling fans live out their dreams, something that 2K15 really dropped the ball on.

Now one change that is more of callback to the older Attitude Era of wrestling games, players will be able to engage in matches in the crowd, backstage, and in various locations outside of the ring. Now I think this is one of the cooler additions because 2K16 was just kind of bland when it came to the crazy stuff you could pull of during a match. And now it looks like we are in the golden age of wrestling video games and I am loving it.

With the release date set for October 11 of this year you can bet your lucky stars that I will be riding that hype train all the way to the store and picking up a copy, and wasting countless hours trying to pull some crazy stunts in my career mode.
