Cherished Companions

One of the best parts of life I believe is to be a pet owner. No matter what fluffy friend or scaly sidekick someone has, it changes them for the better. Animals are great companions no matter the type, and can help someone grow as an adult or as a child. Pets are a shoulder to lean on, a buddy to play with, and somebody to keep you company. Also depending on what type of pet you have, a great snuggle partner. Personally, I think no matter who someone is they should have a pet of some sort.

Pets can help through some dark times. If you are crying and just need someone to help you out, animals are the best place to go to. Animals can feel people’s emotions, so they tend to try and help their human especially if their human is sick. When I was really sick, I hardly moved from the couch. So my dog decided to lie on the floor beside me, and put his head on the side of the couch. He would whimper and nudge me every time I fell asleep to make sure I was okay. It was one of the sweetest things ever.

Pets also bring a smile to your face, no matter who you are. If somebody has a bad day, I recommend spending time with their pet. Just by being their playful and crazy little, or big, selves can bring a smile to someone’s face. Pets especially cheer someone up if they are begging for attention or skidding across the floor.

Pets are also amazing teachers. Dogs teach some crazy patient skills. My dad had put a treat on my dog’s nose, and he was not allowed to eat it until he was told. He was sitting there with his eyes crossed looking at the treat, longing to eat it. He even drooled a little bit, and then my dad let him have it. How many people have the patience or the self-restraint to just sit there?

Animals are amazing creatures, and should never be taken for granted. I feel everyone should have a pet because they make lives better.
