The month of March is finally upon the world and with it the promise of a show coming to Pittsburgh. The show in question is the Green Day Revolution Radio tour, which will be coming to Peterson Event Center on March 25th. Now less than three weeks away, the anticipation for the show is growing.

Green Day is a punk rock band lead by singer/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt. Green Day is my all time favorite band and getting to see them live has always been a dream of mine, but with the members in their mid forties and them not releasing an album since mid 2011 the hope of them going on a nationwide tour was dwindling. Despite this on October 7th Green Day dropped Revolution Radio, their first new album since Tre. The album was a huge success bringing Green Day to their more punk roots with songs that sound like they can fit in albums like Dookie and Insomniac, But also featured the softer songs like those in 21st Century Breakdown.

With the new album release, it was only a matter of time before the band announced tour dates, and to my delight Pittsburgh was a scheduled stop for the trio. They will be arriving to the burgh  at the tail end of March right after their European tour. Good fortune smiled on me when my best friend Eli got two tickets for his senior night and decided that I would be his plus one. We will also be joined by our good friends Dustin and Aaron at  the rock concert.

With the tickets in hand and the dreams in our hearts we will be rocking out with Green Day March 25th.
