There is much to love at Disney World, but some things are just overrated. While guests love most restaurants, rides, and hotels at Disney world, there are some that guests do not. The experiences at these places might be “good,” but they do not live up to the hype, price, or long wait times. Now some of these rides, and hotels can be great experiences, but the hype, price, and long wait times are too high in relation to the quality of what is offered. Price and wait times are pretty easy to gauge since they are facts. However, hype is more difficult, as it requires a knowledge of what guests really like.

Topping off the list of the most overrated experiences at Disney is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. This is Disney’s flagship hotel, so it works in that manner. The outside of the hotel is gorgeous and gives off a feeling of magic. However, the interior is outdated and feels like it is an old person’s home. Of course, this is all subjected to opinions. For the price that people are paying, it seems like guests should get more.

Not exactly a beloved attraction among the Disney community, and not exactly having long waits, Primeval Whirl is still overrated. As long as a single guest visits Primeval Whirl each day, it will be overrated, as that’s one guest too many. Primeval Whirl is the biggest eyesore at Disney, and it’s arguably more tacky than areas of Disney’s California Adventure that were demolished for not being up to Disney’s theme park standards. Some people rave about Dinoland, claiming that it’s “misunderstood” and that its backstory makes it “incredibly clever.” It’s not clever mainly because no one knows the backstory. Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a lot of greatness, but absolutely none of that comes from Primeval Whirl. This attraction might be the most overrated thing at Disney. But hey, the kids seem to like it.

Next we have The Barnstormer. I have a feeling that not many people with arguing calling this overrated. This attraction is overrated because of the ridiculous wait times for what the ride offers. Overall, the coaster is very short and does not offer much in the department of thrill.

Lastly, It’s Tough to be a Bug is just a terrible experience. When I first had the pleasure of going to Disney World, my family thought it would be a good idea to take me to this show, an interactive show. Little did they know, this show would scare me for life. From things being squirted in the faces of fun seekers to the loud noises and 3D effects, the show is plain awful. To top this all off, guests have to wait a long time just to see this. It’s Tough to be a Bug is the most overrated attraction at Disney.

Disney offers many attractions that live up to the standards and hype, but other fall way short and people still want to wait for them. Now where’s the sense in that?
