McDonalds+New+Uniforms

Fast food chain McDonald’s launched new uniforms March 24th. The uniforms are aiming for a modern and functional look. It was a big departure from McDonald’s classic red and yellow attire like it’s been for years. Designer Waraire Boswell used to work at McDonald’s and said, “I wanted to create a uniform that employees wouldn’t mind wearing outside of work.”

Some are for and against the new uniform, in fact some took to social media to voice their concerns of the new attire, saying that McDonald’s new look is being compared to a Star Wars costume. The company aims for the new look to “bridge the gap between fashion and function, allowing for an easy transition from the restaurant to a social environment,” said in an online statement.

Jez Langhorn, McDonald’s senior director of HR, said in another online statement, “Our new collections focus on comfort, fit, functionality and contemporary professionalism, delivering a uniform that crew and managers will feel comfortable to work in and proud to wear.”

I’m hoping that the McDonald’s I’m currently working at will be receiving these new uniforms. There seems to be more of a variety of clothing to choose from with the new apparel.
