Stress

Anxiety is something that some people deal with every moment of every day. Some people only feel it in a span of three weeks. That three week span is called finals.

Anxiety makes students doubt themselves and worry about things they normally would not. The profuse sweating that drips down your face and the clammy hands that are unable to hold a pencil, makes taking a final dreadful. Other students are not as freaked out, but their nerves are high. Students become self conscious of their abilities and really question if they can pass their finals students second guess the smallest things even when they know they are probably right.

The worst part of finals is when there is multiple finals a week. Each night students have to stay up late because they feel that they are going to fail. Even if, they have been studying for the past 2 weeks. Anxiety makes a student a different person. The students who are good in class and do their work could end up failing the final. Other students do not try or take finals because they are too nervous of what it will do to their grade.

Finals are extra pressure on every person in the school. Students have to study, while teachers have to grade, and everyone can be stressed and anxious. Walking to class with a brick in your stomach, hoping you have studied enough and that all your memories do not leave you once you have walked through the door. Sitting at your desk, thinking over a question that you know how to do, but are unable to remember anything.

The best part of finals is when they are over. The weight and stress that are off of a student’s shoulders is an amazing feeling. Afterwards, the school year is almost to an end, but before you know it next year is here and you are taking finals again.
