With the month of October coming, the regular season for the NHL will begin very soon. The first NHL game will be on October 7th at 2 PM, with the Nashville Predators versus the San Jose Sharks.

This match should be a great start to the season in the NHL. It involves a western conference rivalry that will have you on your feet for the entirety of the game.

As for more of a local setting, the Pittsburgh Penguins will begin their season on October 13th at 7 PM at PPG Paints Arena. With many good pickups and re-signing some very great core players like Bryan Rust, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin, it may be a very good season for the Penguins. In this first game, they will be facing the Arizona Coyotes, a western conference team that has still been rebuilding for the past few years. The Penguins are favored over the Coyotes by 2-4 goals as well.

The goal tending situation for the Penguins is currently still the same with a very good lineup consisting of Tristan Jarry, and Casey DeSmith. They both did very well last season, with Jarry having a .919 save percentage and DeSmith having a .914 save percentage.

As far as offense goes, it looks very solid as well. The first line for the Penguins consists of Sidney Crosby, Jake Guentzel, and Bryan Rust, which is a very powerful trio currently for the Penguins.

Overall, it looks like the Penguins do have a great chance of doing well in the regular season, and they could have a good chance of being a playoff contender as well.
