“Flowers” is the brand new single by American singer Miley Cyrus. It is the first official single from her upcoming album “Endless Summer Vacation” which will be released on March 10th. The song is a disco/pop rock track that premiered globally on January 12th. Funny enough, the song happened to premiere on her ex-husband’s birthday.

Miley Cyrus makes her grand return with her new single “Flowers”. After 8 years of being with a record label that sabotaged her career for the time being, she’s back and better than ever and dominating the charts in the process. As someone who’s a huge Miley Cyrus fan but no one actually knows that because most of my taste is between rock and metal, it can easily be said that this song is a solid 10/10. This song has the perfect formula; radio friendly, self love lyrics, easy listening, high replay value. As it was just mentioned, the song is about self love. Cyrus had a rocky relationship with ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The first lyric in the chorus is “I can buy myself flowers,” followed by “I can take myself dancing / I can hold my own hand / Yeah I can love me better than you can.” These are about self love and the fact that you don’t need someone’s validation to feel love. In the beginning of the song, the lyrics are “We were good, we were gold / Kinda dream that can’t be sold / We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.” What’s ironic and a huge give away about this lyric is that Cyrus and Hemsworths’ Malibu home burnt down in 2018. Additionally, the lyrics to this song almost mirror Bruno Mars’s “When I Was Your Man”, which is about the feeling of regret when Mars let go of his previous lover and wishes the best for her. The difference between his song and Flowers is that Cyrus feels no regret and is all for self love.

In summary, “Flowers” is a great song. Over the past 2-3 years many people who used to dismiss Miley and her music suddenly had a change of heart. If this song doesn’t do that for you, then there’s not much else that really will. Highly recommend checking this song out, even if you aren’t too fond of Cyrus or pop music in general.
