A special ceremony was held on March 30th at the Jefferson-Morgan softball field. The field was named the Chris Dugan Memorial Field. The field is now to honor the impact Chris Dugan had on the softball teams live.

Not only does each one of the players carry a piece of Chris Dugan through them but all around the field there are banners hung for him. In front of the soft field a plaque stands in his memory. On the plaque sits a picture of a tree with cancer ribbons spread out on it as leaves and a tire swing hung down from a limb. It was a picture that one of his daughters, Camryn Dugan, drew sitting in the hospital with her dad. The plaque also has a quote of Chris Dugans that his players would hear before every game, “Today.. is the most important game of the season.”

People from the community came together on that Wednesday to watch as they dedicated the field and reveled the plaque. Chris Dugan had a huge impact on many lives. From being a coach, he brought up many great softball players. He had coached many from when they were younger and brought them up all through high school, including his senior daughter Camryn Dugan and his 8th grade daughter, Caitlyn Dugan. You may know some of his palyers as being a part of the Team Dugan team. Team Dugan not only won a section title last year but also got a hold of WPIAL title and had their first state playoff win in the programs history. Team Dugan finished there unforgettable 2014-2015 season with a 16-3 standing.
