People need to turn back to ways of the old days. When someone says “hello” it is only polite to return the favor. It is important because someone took time out of their day to greet you and someone should return the greeting. When a person says “Nice to meet you” it is only proper to return the greeting. Someone gave you a compliment and replying with “Nice to meet you too” is a way to be nice right back.

People also need to say “thank you”, “you are welcome”, “please”, “bless you”, and “excuse me”. It is important because someone is giving you their appreciation, or using their manners. It is very important to say these words nicely though, and not sarcastically. Answering rudely and answering sarcastically are impolite.

When someone is talking it is a polite response to look at them. That way they know you are paying attention, grateful for listening and not upset when you do not remember a topic they talked to you about it. It is important to remember to do this because it is only nice to do so. Ignoring someone by looking away is an insult and is very hurtful. They are taking time out of their day to give you information that might be important, and you should pay attention.

When a person answers a phone, they should answer with “Hello, how may I help you?” If they ask for someone in particular the correct response would be “Please wait a minute while I go get them for you.” It is important to do this because it is the right salutation to use. It also leaves a good impression because if you were to answer any other way they might find you rude or even arrogant. People overall should be kind to everyone.
