Juggling School and Soccer

Madison Clayton is a hard worker with many activities going on outside of school. She juggles being a high school student athlete, taking hard classes and, being on multiple soccer teams. She works hard in school, and then plays her hardest giving everything she has to bring home a win with her team.

Even though Clayton is on many teams she enjoys playing with her friends from both the team and school.

“I had to learn how to manage my time and get my homework done as soon as I could so during the game I do not have to focus on anything else. Clayton says that “Trying to study for test is almost impossible with what limited time she has. The day after a game when there is a test I am always stressed out.” Clayton tries to finish everything she has to do and when it comes to the game she is completely focused no matter the issues.

Clayton sometimes struggles juggling school and her sports team but she would not change anything for the world. Her teams have taught her many lessons and she is grateful for every experience.

“I have made so many friends and learned many lessons from each coach and that has brought me to where I am today. Each coach has a different lesson to teach or a new way of learning and that has taught me a lot.” Clayton would definitely recommend playing on multiple teams for any other athlete. “I have learned so much from everyone the teams are amazing the way they are and I would not have had the experiences that I am so grateful for. I learned how to work with people better, the importance of teamwork, time management and the effort of hard work”

Clayton has had many experiences playing and loves the fact that she can play her favorite sport with her best friends every day. She is nervous for what is to come of her soccer career and all the pressure she has on her to keep winning game after game to hopefully make it to states.

Clayton is looking at West Virginia University, Pitt, Kent State, and Coastal Carolina because they have her major and amazing soccer programs that she hopes to be a part of one day.
