The first season of Thirteen Reasons Why told the story of Hannah Baker, a junior in high school. Baker commits suicide and leaves behind 13 tapes, which tell the reasons she decided to take her own life.

It has recently been announced that the show has been picked up for a 13-episode second season. The second season will go more in depth into Hannah’s story and let fans know what happened to their favorite characters after the cliffhanger ending of season one.

“I knew by the time we finished season 1 that I wanted to continue. We really have characters who, after 13 episodes, are just beginning the process of recovery and the process of coming to terms with what part they might’ve played in Hannah’s death and how Hannah’s death will change their lives going forward,” said Brian Yorkey according to Entertainment Weekly.

Sophomore Tyler Woolen says, “I am not really sure what to expect from season two, but I am glad to have answers. I feel like they didn’t tell Hannah’s story thoroughly in season one so I am hoping to understand more with season two.”

“Season 2 is going to start a few months after the events of season 1. The tapes are no longer a significant part of the story, but a new “analog technology” will play a role next season,” said Brian Yorkey according to Slashfilm.

“I don’t think it’s possible for the second season to be better than the first, but I am very excited to see what they have,” said senior Morgan Spencer.

Netflix has confirmed that the second season of Thirteen Reasons Why will stream in 2018.
