Mr. Lesko, Jefferson-Morgans middle and high school Art teacher, recently brought a sensory room to life with the help of three seniors in the high school.

Seniors Wade Belford, Jasmine Smitley, and Madison Kovach volunteered their art skills for three weeks to help bring the design for the room alive. They started with four blank white walls and ended with four soothing and colorful walls.

“Being apart of this experience has been so wonderful and is for sure one of my favorite memories from my high school career,” said Smitley. “I created a room where students can go to relax and calm down when needed and that makes my heart happy. I know the room will get a good use out of it. I was also able to bond again with my old friend Madison Kovach,” added Smitley.

The three drew, painted, and filled the room with items to help calm the special needs students of the high school. These items include a blow up couch, fuzzy blankets, fuzzy carpets, feet massages, lava lamps, books/activities, bean bags, bubble makers, and so much more.
