Jefferson Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Abigail Ankrom as its student of the month for October.

Daughter of Bill and Amy Ankrom of Rices Landing, Ankrom is a senior at Jefferson Morgan High school where she maintains a GPA of 4.2.

Ankrom is a member of drama club, peer jury, SADD, student council (president), National Honor Society (vice-president), and Spanish club (treasurer). She is a four-year member of the volleyball team (captain senior year), a two-year member of the basketball team (captain junior year), and a four-year member of the softball team. During her junior and senior years, Ankrom was selected to the All Greene County Volleyball Team.

Ankrom served as 2020 Jefferson-Morgan High School Homecoming Queen.  She was named Observer Reporter Athlete of the Week.  She was the recipient of The Challenger Program Award for Community service.

Ankrom is director of Vacation Bible School for Hewitt Presbyterian Church, and she is very active in church activities.

After graduation, Ankrom will attend Waynesburg University to study nursing.  She was awarded the A.B. Miller Academic Scholarship.
