Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Molly Mylan as its student of the month for March.

Daughter of Barry and Darla Mylan of Rices Landing, Mylan is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High school where she maintains a 3.58 GPA.

Mylan is a six-year member of the marching band, section leader for two-years, field conductor during junior year, and drum major senior year. Mylan is a two-year member of yearbook (editor), a member of student council (secretary/treasurer), and a member of Principal Advisory Council. She participates in drama club, chorus, library club (captain), and Big Brother Big Sisters. She was selected to participate in the PMEA honors choir. She also was been selected as a soloist in the Greene County all-county choir and was a member of all-county band.

Mylan has reached the Ambassador rank in Girl Scouts, and she has received Bronze and Silver Awards.  She is currently working on the requirements for the Gold Award. Additionally, she has earned three religious Girl Scout awards.

As Jefferson-Morgan’s Miss Rain Day representative, Mylan was selected for the Remo C. Bertugli essay scholarship.  She was selected as the DAR Good Citizen of the Year.

Her volunteer activities include packing and distributing with the food bank with the Miss Rain Day organization, placing flags on the graves with the American Legion, participating in drives and service projects for Greene County Humane Society, and helping with book drives for local libraries and for the elementary school.

After graduation, Mylan plans to attend Shippensburg University to study biology and complete her pre-veterinary studies.
