Go Outside!
There is a pandemic happening to the younger generation. This pandemic is kids becoming less active and becoming lazier than the older generation. The kids of today are too busy playing the video games and watching television than going outside and playing games.
The idea of kids becoming less active and not being outside as much is becoming a reality and fast. The technology in today’s society is making kids glued to video games or their phones and not getting around and moving. The game Pokémon Go had the right idea of trying to get kids to move around to succeed in the game, but kids ended up not looking up and getting hurt. This just shows that when kids don’t get outside they lose a lot of their common sense in the real world. Another thing is that America’s obesity rating is going up.
“I am more productive outside than I am inside,” said Gavin Ostrich
In a survey, 9 of 10 students polled stated kids should spend more time outside than inside. Everyone agreed that kids in our generation need to get outside and be more active so that America’s obesity rating stops going up. This is something that needs to be slowed to a stop because America is getting a bad look as if we are a lazy country.
Kids’ becoming less active is something that needs to be taken care of properly. The generation coming up should be a healthy looking face of our nation and maybe our country can do a little bit better in the Olympics. If everybody gets healthy and fit we could work and not depend on other countries to make things for us but we make things and buy it off of us. When that happens we could possibly pay off the debt to our country. If everyone tries to get their kids to be active we would not have this problem according to http://nypost.com
“It is a lot healthier to be outside and there is much more to do.” Said Justin Silbaugh
In conclusion many students go outside more than being inside but there are some people in the world who prefer to be inside according to http://www.npr.org. This is not like kids used to be and now they are becoming lazier. We should be getting the younger generation outside doing more activities, not having them on the gaming consoles or television.
