Savannah Saeson is a sophomore and a member of the Jefferson-Morgan basketball team.

Everyone likes what they like for a reason, right? People don’t go out and swim or hunt or other hobbies just to do them, there’s something specifically they enjoy about their hobby.

When asked what her favorite thing about playing basketball was, Saeson responded with “It’s the rush of doing something right and to hear your team cheer you on as I spot the approving look on my coach’s face.”

As with everything, basketball has an aspect of chance to it. Unexpected, memorable events can happen at any time.

“At the California game last year, I felt at my best. The whole game just pushed me to get better with the split second decisions,” said Saeson, explaining her most memorable moment from basketball.

With time comes experience, and experience is knowledge. Of course, knowledge must be passed down to improve and prepare the following generations for what’s to come.

According to Saeson, the most important piece of advice she can give to new players is to listen to their coaches, because “they know what they’re doing.”

Good luck to Saeson and the rest of the JM winter athletes!
