Katelynn Messina is a freshman and a member of the softball team.

This is Messina’s first year on varsity. She has been playing since the sixth grade. She has no inspiration on why she plays softball. Messina plays because she wants to play the sport.

“What I like about softball are the girls on the team,” said Messina.

Messina holds the position of right fielder. For this season she does not have any goals that she is reaching to accomplish.

“Hopefully I’ll get better,” Messina said. She is looking forward to getting better with her softball skills this season. One thing that Messina says benefits her is that being on the softball team is it keeps her in shape. Messina does not have a favorite team to compete against.
