Kayla Yorko is a junior and a setter for the volleyball team.

“Work hard. Don’t let anything stop you from achieving what you want to do. Work ten times harder than everyone to get what you want. Play with your heart and leave everything on the court.” That is the advice that Kayla gives other student athletes. She also says the most rewarding thing about volleyball is being around her teammates and learning.

Kayla would like to win sections this year. She has attended a JM volleyball camp for two weeks to help her achieve this goal. She says her best performance was against California over the summer. She had 15 service points and 3 tip points.

“This is my first year playing in high school, but I have played in middle school.” She says her favorite aspect of volleyball is definitely attacking. But she also says the most difficult aspect is learning the fast pace of high school from the slower pace of middle school. She says her favorite memory is when they beat Carmichaels and the student section storming the court.

Kayla is going to keep working hard to reach her goals for this season.  Good luck to Kayla and the volleyball team in their season.
