A Flamin’ Hot Cheeto sculpted to look like Pokémon’s Charizard sold for $87,840 at auction! Named “Cheetozard” by 1st & Goal Collectibles, this 3-inch collectible captured the internet’s attention in 2024. The auction, held by Goldin Auction House, kicked off with bids as low as $250 and saw 60 offers before the final price fell at $72,000, plus a buyer’s premium.
This unexpected sale shows just how much people love novelty collectibles that mix pop culture with a touch of nostalgia. Even though some social media users were skeptical about the price tag, the blend of Pokémon’s appeal and the item’s unique charm kept collectors bidding. As PepsiCo, the parent company of Cheetos, put it, “Cheetos are fun and unexpected.” Additonally, this isn’t the first time a Cheeto has sold for so much, as in 2017 a Cheeto that was shaped like Harambe sold for almost $100,000.
