There are many things to do during the summertime. The summertime is when kids are out on break and there is no homework or tests to be thinking about. Fun things to do in the hot sun are swimming, hiking, and even water or amusement parks. There are many options in the area and even some people go on vacation to different states and do fun things there that they could not do in Pennsylvania.

A very popular place to visit during the summer is Kennywood. Kennywood is full of fun rides, such as the Phantom’s Revenge, The Sky Rocket, and the Sky Coaster. All of these rides give a rush of adrenaline due to the speed and height that they perform. Tickets can be bought at the park or at any local Giant Eagle. My favorite ride at Kennywood is most definitely the Phantom’s Revenge. Going up the first giant hill all the way to the top before dropping into the track is amazing. I used to have a fear of it, but I was over it after about the tenth time riding it.

Besides going to amusement parks, hiking is something fun to do on a nice day. A great place to go is Ohio Pile. Their trails stretch very far and hikers can even go for a swim in the water to cool off. I enjoyed going this past summer and I want to do it again. It is a great way to stay active, but get a look at some of the country out there.

Summer can go very fast, but students should not spend all of their time in front of the T.V. If old enough they should get a summertime job to keep them busy and get a little cash. Students tend to forget what they have learned from the previous year of school so they should think about what they have learned, and maybe take up some summertime classes. They should not be lazy during the summertime. It is very nice outside and time should not be wasted.
