Dylan Crockard is a senior member and captain of the Jefferson-Morgan football team.

Dylan has been playing football for six years starting in 7th grade. He started off the season as number 89 and a wide receiver, but he has slowly moved to a left tackle and changing his number to 50 in the progress. Dylan is a team player and always does what he asked and what is best for the team. When asked if what he thinks about the sudden position change Dylan said, “It wasn’t a good start as I didn’t know much about the position, but I believe it was for the best and the good of the team and I am happy to help my team.”

A hope for Dylan this year is to make playoffs, “I just want to make playoffs my senior year it will be the first time I have ever gone,” said Dylan when asked why this was his goal.

Though Dylan loves the sport of football it isn’t an easy task. When asked what is biggest gripe with the sport is, getting his toes broken when the bigger kids step on them was his answer. He also believes that he needs to improve on some aspects of his game saying, “I’m pretty good at blocking and just getting in the way of defenders, but it is hard for me to drive some of the bigger kids due to my size.”

Dylan had this to say when asked if ever regretted donning the orange jersey on Friday, “ Sometimes my body wishes I never played, but my heart is always in the sport.”

Despite not always being that glamours Dylan will always be on the call when his team needs him. “Just the love of the sport and the over all family feel. When you put on those jerseys the guys with you become your brothers,” that’s what Dylan  had to say when asked what made him come out and play. Dylan is planning on having an explosive senior year and he wants to score a defensive touchdown

Advise that Dylan would pass on to anyone playing the sport is that even if it’s tuff stick it out, it will make you better. I would like to wish Dylan luck on the field and to accomplish everything he sets out to do.
