Ewing Jamison is a freshman and a member of the varsity football team.

This is Jamison’s first year playing for the High School team, and he takes on the two positions: wide receiver and outside linebacker . Although Jamison is a young player he has multiple strengths like his memory of the plays.

“If I had to pick my biggest strength it would definitely be how well I can remember the plays. I work on nailing them a lot by going over and over them during school, at home, basically everywhere” said Jamison. “Especially since I”m a freshman and need to show what I am worth to the coaches and my teammates,” added Jamison.

Jamison plans on playing football as a Rocket for the rest of his High School career. He looks up to Jerry Rice for inspiration because he finds Rice to have the best work ethic and drive he’s ever seen in a football player. He aspires to play each and every game like Rice or even better than Rice.

Jamison hopes to be able to receive a letter after this year. He believes if he letters it will help him become a better player because it will motivate him more. His main goal is to get some good playing time in so he can help carry his team to the playoffs and give some of his best friends a great year.

“Even though I’m a freshman, my drive to be the best I can be is at an all time high. I run every play like I won’t be able to run it again and make every touchdown count,” said Jamison. “My main goal this year is to be able to rack up some good playing time and help the team get to the playoffs. The senior high had a tough season last year going 2-8, but this year we have so many younger kids to help mix things up,” added Jamison. “I just hope I can be one of those kids.”

Game day is the best day in Jamison’s eyes, Friday’s are not just Friday’s to him. To Jamison a game mean’s a lot, it’s where you get to show off everything you have worked for in practice. After a long week of watching game tapes, going over drills, and becoming closer with his teammates, he gets to show off all the skill he’s got.

“Friday’s are always the best days, not just for me but for everyone at school. Like the cheerleaders, other football players, the teachers, and every person who makes up our student section,” Jamison said. “I always give my best in every game and hope I can provide a good show for my friends and family. Also while kicking butt and winning games,” added Jamison.

Jamison looks forward to the rest of this season and future seasons. He can’t wait to see what talent him and his freshman friends bring to the plate and he also hopes they can make their way to the playoffs.
