As an athlete,  there are many different factors that go into training, and training successfully.  One factor that is possibly the most important, and one that sets athletes apart from one another, is dieting.  Although having a nutritious diet can be very challenging to achieve, it is extremely challenging for a young student athlete that is always busy.

Even though, student athletes have many different challenges and goals to reach and over come it is vitally important that they remain on a nutritious diet. One reason why it is important for an athlete to keep a nutritionally sound diet is because it fuels an athlete through out the day whether that’s in a workout, practice or even in the class room.

There are many different ways an athlete can go about fitting nutritionally sound meals into his or her diet. One popular method used by many body builders and athletes is meal prepping. Meal prepping is a very commonly used strategy where a large amount of food is cooked on a certain day, and then proportioned into separate containers to use through out the week.

There are abundance of different meal prep strategies and recipes that an athlete can use to fit meals into their daily schedule. One extremely easy and conventional preps is grilled chicken and rice. This prep is possibly the most used recipe because it is super easy, tastes great and it is extremely cheap.

Another way athletes can go about fitting nutritious meals into their busy schedule is ordering “take-out” from various  restaurants. This method poses many different advantages and one of the advantages is saving time. This method saves an abundance of time because the food is often prepared fast and the athlete does not have to cook or re-heat the meal. Although one of the only down falls of this method is ordering from a restaurant everyday for multiple meals can become very expensive as the weeks go on.

In the end there are many different strategies an athlete can use to reach their goals, and it is important for the athlete to find what works best for them when deciding on what strategy to use.
