Study Hall in the School

If I could change something about my school, I would change the fact that we don’t have some sort of study hall.  I believe that a period like this would be very beneficial to students, as well as teachers.  Some students find themselves very busy throughout the evening after the dismissal of school.  There are student athletes that attend practices and games that may not have the most time to study.  Some of the athletes who are even more dedicated may attend an additional practice after the school affiliated one to get better at their sport, leaving them with very limited time to study after school.  It would help these student athletes have a period of time to focus on studying for tests or getting homework done.  This would also be beneficial to those who work after school.  Some may go straight to work after school and have little to no time to hit the books.

Not only would this give those students more time to study, it would also give students with a heavy schedule an extra opportunity to study and catch up on work.  Students with multiple weighted classes could get some of the work done ahead of time before they reach home.  Other students who have these classes may not usually have a period that seems easier than most of them, so this period would give them a much needed relaxation time to recharge themselves for the rest of the day.  The same could go for teachers, standing up all day an instructing could be tiresome, but this period could allow them to relax or catch up on some work.  Study hall could be beneficial to all groups of people.
