Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Colby Simkovic as its student of the month for October.

The son of Jerry and Carrie Simkovic of Waynesburg.  Simkovic is a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where he maintains a 3.13 GPA.

Simkovic is a member of the Waynesburg Central rifle team. He is a member of the Principal’s Advisory Council, Student Council, and National Technical Honor Society. Colby is also a member of the Rifle team.

Simkovic serves as president of Colby’s Stars Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children who are battling cancer.  He is also an ambassador for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Upon graduation, Colby would like to attend a trade school.  He has an interest in becoming an electrical lineman.
