Casey Herrod Named Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club November Student of the Month

Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club has selected Casey Herrod as its student of the month for November. Daughter of Amanda Weishner and Donald Herrod of Waynesburg, Herrod is a Senior at Jefferson-Morgan where she maintains a 3.85 GPA.

Herrod is the Student Council President and the Drum Major for the Jefferson-Morgan Band. She is a member of the Foreign Language Club, Upward Bound, Envirothon, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She is the President of Leo Club and a Treasurer of the National Honor Society. Herrod is the Secretary of the Class of 2025 and is a member of the Drama club. She is a member of SADD and the JBC youth group in Jefferson.

Herrod volunteers to work and organize events as well as fundraisers for all listed clubs and organizations. She also volunteers at the Jefferson-Baptist Church delivering food baskets for the less fortunate around the holidays.

After graduation, Herrod plans to attend college and major in Environmental Science with a minor in Sustainability.

Elsa Roberts is a Sophomore and is in her second year as a journalism student. Roberts participates in the Leo Club and plays in the band. She serves as an editor for the Rocket Reporter. In addition, Roberts plays two different sports. She plays basketball and cheer. Roberts likes going outside and hiking, as well as going camping with her friends and family.
