October 28, 2015 is National Chocolate Day. This day was made to celebrate all things chocolate. There are so many different types, such as milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, unsweetened chocolate, and sweetened chocolate.

Not only do many people think that chocolate tastes good, but some also have found that it can lower blood pressure. Different types of chocolate are made with different types of ingredients, but all share something in common. Chocolate is made from the cocoa seed found in the Theobroma tree. This tree is grown in Mexico, Central America and Northern South America. Chocolate is made by drying and roasting the cocoa bean. Then it produces cacao nibs by removing the shell. The nibs are grounded into cocoa mass, which is just like pure chocolate, but in a rougher form. The mass is then melted and molded. Some chocolates have other ingredients, such as milk chocolate. After it is melted milk powder gets added. Sweet chocolate has butter and sugar. White chocolate has butter, milk, and sugar, but no cocoa solids. All chocolates have around 540 calories and about 8% protein. Chocolate is also a good source to get iron and calcium. The chocolate industry is huge and growing each year. It grows an estimated $50 billion a year. Two of the main US companies, Mars and Hershey, grow about $13 billion a year alone. These two companies make up two-thirds of the US chocolate production.

There are so many things chocolate in this world. There are so many different recipes that use chocolate, many different ways to make chocolate, and to eat it. The most famous way to eat chocolate is chocolate chip cookies.
