Everything in a computer is powered by the CPU or processor, It’s like the brain of the computer. Everything that is visible is powered and created by the graphics card. A graphics card or GPU is something that is not necessary, but is very much needed in a gaming computer. A graphics card is one of the most expensive parts of a computer, so looking to buy an expensive one usually means that you are going to get quality parts.

Graphics cards are one of the most mainstream computer parts that the public and PC building community mostly raves about. The two companies that make such graphics cards are NVIDIA and AMD. Graphics card are pretty powerful pieces of tech that go hand-and-hand with your processor to deliver everything that is visible on monitor or display. There are different types of graphics, discrete graphics and on board graphics. Discrete graphics is what a graphics card is, discrete just means that there is a part in a computer that is solely only handling stuff that has to do with graphics. On board graphics are graphics that are pre-built into the BIOS of a motherboard or in an operating system of a processor. On board graphics are commonly used in work, school, or laptop computers that are mainly used just for basic photo editing, word processing, or web browsing. On board graphics are typically weaker than those of a discrete graphics card. The reason being that graphics cards are not multitasking as much as a CPU, so this allows for more allocation of processing strength. Intel and AMD are two main processor brands that can be identified, and they are the only processor brands that have some sort of on board graphics software. On board graphics are not really used for Gaming or are they used in a lot of medium to high end systems. The one reason that a lot of companies still preload all of their motherboards and CPU’s with on board graphics is for the PC builders like myself, but that is not for today’s discussion. NVIDIA and AMD are the two main front runners in this Graphics card battle. Just like their CPU’s, AMD is known for their cheaper prices, but still delivering a power piece of tech. NVIDIA is like the Intel of graphics cards, NVIDIA is very well known for their achievements in the graphics processor field, and their pieces of technology help not only those trying to get a powerful gaming computer, but help the military with many of their gadgets. Gadgets such as a tablet, all the way up to the display inside of a battle ready M1A2 SEP combat tank.

Graphics cards are pretty expensive compared to most parts that are inside of a computer. Since so much money is dropped on one of these bad boys, you would expect such a heck of a kick in your performance, and that is exactly what is delivered.
