PC Talk: Resolution; Are We Ready for 4K?
Is the world ready for 4K yet? The answer is yes, but at a lot of costs. 4K is a semi-new technology that allows for a realistic, breathtaking visual experience. 4K is a resolution; these resolutions are in displays and require a lot of graphic horse power to put out such a picture. Resolution is the amount of pixels in a certain amount of space on the display. 4K televisions are about $2000 and the reason for that price tag is because of how new it is. Computers that have high end graphics cards usually can put out at greater resolution with better frame rate.
Resolutions are what makes a picture, television, or display look crisp, and clean looking when it comes to moving graphics or pictures. Over the years resolution has evolved from standard definition, HD, HDX, and UHD. In today’s time most of today’s generations have grown up in the HD age, where standard definition and bulky tube TVs are not viable. Now every television sold is some kind of HD or 4K TV. In the gaming world 4K is something that requires a lot of graphics power, and in today’s gaming world 4K is this new tech that cost a lot money in order to run it. 1080p is what most of today’s television are and 4K TV’s are almost triple the cost and resolution allowing for a more realistic picture. The big problem with this television resolution is that the TV puts out a picture so crisp, and colorful that the human eye cannot perceive its full effect. From this point on television cannot get any better, because our eyes can’t even see the full picture quality. That one of the main reasons that we are not ready, another reason no satellite TV providers offer streaming their services in 4K yet. So if you’re a person who likes to watch their favorite show on a huge television, than a 4K TV is a waste of money at the moment in time. The final reason is that there is nothing in 4K including movies, blue-ray movies don’t even offer 4K or 1080p (HDX) resolution. The only thing in 4K are PC games, but if you’re not a gamer than you won’t be able to experience 4K for at least another 2 years before the resolution is more support by worldwide streaming services or companies.
