Early Spring

The 15 inches of snow that was once laying on the ground has now melted.  The rain has fallen and the warm weather has melted the snow, leaving the ground with puddles everywhere. On February 2nd, it was Groundhog Day. Punxsutawney Phil came out of his tree trunk to predict the future weather. If Phil sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter, if he does not see his shadow spring will be coming early. The Groundhog Day started in 1887. Since 1887, the groundhog has not seen his shadow 18 times.  In 2016, Phil did not see his shadow, which means spring will come early.
