Some Dreams Can Come True
This past saturday was the first show of the year for GCW (Greene County Wrestling). GCW is a backyard wrestling promotion that is possible because of Sebastian and Jagger Jellots. Last summer they purchased a wrestling ring and had it put in their backyard. With the ring there it opened up the opportunity for the creation of the GCW, originally created by Eli Rafial and Aaron Mylan with no intention of it actually happening. Now GCW is into its second season and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Being a part of GCW is almost kind of serial. Growing up watching wrestling and wanting to be a real professional wrestler, I never dreamed I’d actually have the chance to step into a real ring. It might not be as glamorous as being in the big leagues like WWE or NJPW, but what we have is pretty great. Actually being able to put on matches for the people who came to watch us is always an exciting experience that gets the blood rushing. Hearing the crowd actually react to our characters or our matches is a feeling that sticks with me.
While we have a long way to go and are far from the perfect wrestling show, GCW is a dream come true for many people.
