Leading Up to Christmas
Saturday, December 5th someone special is coming to visit Greene County.
Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mrs. Claus and Santa will arrive at the Greene County Fairgrounds for “Breakfast with Santa.” The cost is $8 per person and will be prepared by Dan Wagner, an instructor at the Greene County Career & Technology Center. Children will be able to have their picture taken with Santa, receive a Santa hat along with Christmas crafts and a special treat. A coloring contest will take place, winners will be chosen in multiple age categories.
The annual Christmas parade will also be held Saturday, December 5. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and is sponsored by FirstEnergy Foundation.
Miss Rain Day 2015, Claire Kreider, will start the parade off with singing the national anthem. Christmas music will be playing at the courthouse steps before the parade begins. The floats being the Most Original, Best Design and Most Spirit will be awarded a trophy or ribbon along with a few other floats in the parade. The guest of honor, Santa Claus will be riding at the end of the parade.
Christmas is coming a little early in Greene County.
