Advice to Soon-to-be Seniors
Juniors, might as well call them seniors at this point. At one point in time, high school felt like it would never end. All those times in middle school when they would push us to think about what we wanted to do with our lives was annoying at the time, but now I realize why they did. The last four years of high school have flown by, and now seniors are on the verge of making a life for ourselves and half of us are scared to death. Suddenly, the time of us having to figure everything out is running out and decisions have to be made. The scariest part for me about making a decision is making the wrong one, there are so many opportunities; I do not want to make the wrong one, along with many other seniors. Big decisions are constantly running through my head like.. Play basketball in college or not? Go for four years? Double major to better my chances at a job? Or just focus on school and not play sports? All these options are just a few thoughts that are going through everyones minds.
So as Juniors, think now. Think about what you are interested and make sure you do something that you will enjoy doing for the rest of your life. Do not sweat it though, people half way through their lives still have no idea, but you have to at least have a rough draft for what you want to do with your life. Do not let anyone tell you what to do or what not to do. If your goal is crazy, stick to it and go through with it, I promise it will be worth it. Make a decision first, do what you want to do, but think about it now. You will be in our shoes next year and you will probably panic just like we are, but it will be okay. Enjoy senior year, it goes by way too fast!
