Getting Ready for the Big Night
On Wednesday, October 19th, Coach Julia Lash took her seven seniors out to get their nails done. They went to LaDanna’s in Carmichaels to get them done. All the girls got a fall/Halloween themed nails. The past few days the seniors have been preparing letters and gifts for their fellow teammates and coaches. Over the years it has become a tradition for the seniors to write everyone a goodbye letter and for the underclassmen to write one for all the seniors. This year Erin Confortini suggested that the seniors get each other little gifts for the big night.
I made Christmas ornaments for the other seniors and coaches. On the ornaments I painted a volleyball with their name and the year on it. To top it off I tied different ribbons on top. For the rest of varsity I got them candy with a little note attached to it saying “Thanks for making my last year sweet.” Writing my letters to my good friends, Erin and Jamie, was the hardest thing I’ve had to do. October 20th is senior night and I don’t think I am ready to say goodbye to this sport and all of my friends. I have been preparing for this night and that it is here, I want to cry. All the camps and practices I went to was to get myself ready for this night. I want my last game one for the books.
