An Athlete’s Moment
Athletes all come to the moment that they have been dreading since starting the sport. This past two weeks have been building up to my moment. I have been playing volleyball for five years now and now it is all over. Any athlete that is passionate about a sport will get to this day and will be an emotional wreck. Sadly I recently played my last volleyball game ever. The Jefferson Morgan Varsity Volleyball Team made it to the first round in playoffs and took a tough loss to Bishop Canevin. I cried as soon as the game came to an end. All the emotions of it being my last game and playing with my friends.
It doesn’t matter if it’s a high school, college, or even a professional athlete, they all will come to their last game. Sports aren’t something that someone can play their whole life. Athletes will eventually reach the end of their career in the sport they love. I have learned something from my last few years playing volleyball, don’t ever give up, work hard to be the best, and most importantly have fun. My last season was the best year of playing volleyball. I had so much fun with my three best friends, Erin, Jamie, and Coach Julia. My advice to the underclassmen is to enjoy these last years as an athlete, it will be all over before you know it. It is a sad thing but it is apart of an athlete’s life.
