December happens to be my favorite month of the year. Most people prefer warm weather and going to the beach, but I would rather spend a week in Alaska in a cabin. I love the cold weather for many reasons. Clothing styles is my main reason for loving winter because of the cute jackets and scarves I get to wear. There is something about getting all bundled up and playing in the snow, that sounds like so much fun. I lover getting to wear my winter boots too.

The big day in December is the 25th because it’s Christmas. Christmas is my favorite holiday because everyone just seems a bit happier. I actually like Christmas Eve better than Christmas Day because all of excitement is building up. At my house, we take Christmas very seriously. We go all out on decorations, dinners, and gifts. I would rather give gifts than receive a gift. When buying a gift for someone special, I put a lot of time and effort into it. I love to see the smile on their face when they open their gift. Also making a cup of hot chocolate and snuggling up on the couch, next to the fire sound awesome. Also December means Christmas movies are on. Hallmark always has good Christmas movies on. My favorite Christmas movie is only played on Christmas day, and it is “The Christmas Story.” Usually the week of Christmas my family and I ride around looking at Christmas lights.

Lastly, December 22nd is my birthday, and that makes me super excited. I will be turning 18 this year and I can’t wait to step out  into the real world. December is a special month to me because of all the things I get to look forward to. December is my favorite time of the year. I look forward to winter all summer long.
