There are so many things to enjoy about this time of the year. Different scents, foods, movies, and outside activities appear during this time. Even though winter is my least favorite season of the year there are some things I kind of enjoy about it. I both love and hate change throughout the seasons. My favorite change throughout the seasons is the change of scenery.

I love seeing the leaves change from one color to the next. Then from trees having orange, yellow, and red leaves to having no leaves at all. Nature is beautiful during the changing of the seasons. During the change from fall to winter the leaves have all fallen off of the trees, the sky gets darker, the day becomes shorter, and I like that about this time of the year. I love that the sky is dark and by 5:00pm it is pitch black. Another thing I love seeing during this time of the year is seeing icicles hanging off the rocks on back roads.

Christmas time is filled with so many different scents. There is gingerbread, pine, cinnamon, etc. Whenever I smell those scents I immediately think of Christmas. They are all very warm, welcoming, and very homey scents to me. During Christmas my house always smells like these scents. Especially pine since my family gets a real tree every year.

There are so many Christmas movies it is ridiculous. Some of my favorites are Elf, Home Alone, Love Actually, Jack Frost, Rudolph, etc. Christmas movies are always so cheery or funny. I love watching holiday films with my family. It is one of the few things that we all do together. We make popcorn, make forts in the family room, and watch holiday films together as a family.

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays It is the time of year where I get to see all of my family and have fun with them.
