The 12th grade English class just finished up the play, Macbeth. They just took the overall test on the whole story. It took about three weeks to complete the lesson. The play takes place around the 11 century in Scotland and it is about a nobleman named Macbeth.

In the story the main character Macbeth runs into some trouble. There are these witches that give him prophecies to predict his future but Macbeth takes priorities into his own hands. Soon Macbeth would be pushed into killing King Duncan by his wife, Lady Macbeth. This would be the start of it all. Macbeth would later on kill his friend Banquo to benefit himself. Macbeth starts to see things that aren’t really there and go a little insane. Towards the end of the play, Macbeth kills Macduff’s family and he will soon rise will Duncan’s son, Malcolm, to get revenge. Macduff and Malcolm get 10.000 English troops to go and fight Macbeth and his men. In the end, Macbeth’s ambition would get the best of him and would be the cause of his death. Macduff kills Macbeth at the end and the new king of Scotland is Malcolm.

When we finally finished the play, I was relieved. Shakespeare is very complicated to read and fully understand, but in the end I learned a lot. I really liked the play and the theme.
