Student Athlete
Being a student athlete has it’s pros and cons. There is so much to balancing school and sports. I know that it is extra hard to play a sport where the team gets out early for a game. Softball gets out pretty early because they can’t play when the sun goes down. I tend to miss my last class, which is math, a lot. Student athletes have to be responsible for the work they miss. Some teachers are really understanding and if a athlete needs help, they can come a different period to get help on the material.
One good thing about being a student athlete is the name itself. Sports are my life and I love playing them. Sports are a good way to relieve stress. If I am stressing about a test or something, it is nice to take a break and release my frustration out on the court. Being a student athlete teaches you a lot of life skills. It teaches the student how to balance two or more things at once, to work hard, to never give up, and etc. I have used all of these things everyday in life. Also another pro of being a student athlete are the friends you make. I have made some really good friends all over through sports.
School and sports go back and forth, but at the end of the day school is more important. I am thankful to have been able to be a student athlete, it has taught me a lot.
