Reading is one of my favorite things to do, but there are so many books that I own that I have not gotten around to reading yet that I am pretty excited to read. Even with all the free time I have, I still have not had enough time to get to read all the books on my shelves. There are some books I own that I have had for years and I still have not read them yet! Normally when I buy new books I end up reading all of those before reading any of the books I have had for a long time and not read. End of Watch, Throne of Glass, and A Million Little Pieces, are some of the books I have not read yet but am really excited to get to read.

End of Watch is the last book in the Bill Hodges trilogy by Stephen King. The first two books of the trilogy (Mr. Mercedes and Finders Keepers) become part of one of my favorite series of books. Mr. Mercedes is about a retired detective (Bill Hodges) and his two “partners” (Jerome Robinson and Holly Gibney) who try to catch the “Mercedes Killer” (Brady Hartsfield). Finders Keepers is about a boy (Pete Saubers) who finds hundreds of notebooks in a truck that was buried in a tree. About 30-40 years prior to Pete Saubers finding the notebooks, a man Morris Bellamy shot his partners in crime and John Rothstein (the author of the stories in the notebooks) and hid the truck of notebooks in a tree near his childhood house (the house Pete Saubers now lives in). Bill Hodges, Jerome Robinson, and Holly Gibney return near the end of the book when Morris is livid trying to find the truck and the one who stole it from its original spot. They help Pete Saubers keep the notebooks safe, his family safe, and capture Morris before he hurts anyone. End of Watch is about Brady Hartsfield (one of the main characters from the first books, Mr. Mercedes) and his now ability to control people’s minds. He uses this power to make people kill themselves. He knows Bill Hodges knows about his “power”. Bill and his partners try to stop Brady before they become his next victims. The reason I am very excited to read End of Watch is because I fell in love with the first two books of the trilogy. Hopefully I will love the ending book as much as the beginning book.

Throne of Glass is the first book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. The main character, Celaena Sardothien, is an assassin. She has to come to a land that does not have any magic so that she can win her freedom. If she can defeat many killers, thieves, and warrior in a competition, Celaena will be released from the prison she was put in to become the king’s champion. There is a castle made of glass that evil lives in. Her competitors start to die one by one and Celaena realizes that she needs to fight hard to survive and fight for her freedom. Fantasy books are some of my favorite types of books. Mostly any book that has magic in it I end up liking. I hope Throne of Glass will be as good as I hope so I can read the rest of the books in the series!

A Million Little Pieces is about the author’s (James Frey) six week experience in a rehabilitation facility. I love to read books that are about something that had actually happened to the author. They took the time and work to put their story down on pieces of papers for everyone and anyone to read. That takes a lot of courage for someone to do that. Readers understand that sometimes it can be hard telling people about things that have happened to us. James Frey was an alcoholic for ten years and a crack addict for three. A Million Little Pieces is his story about getting better and getting over the things like alcohol and drugs. Will he get better? Will being in the rehab facility help him to change his ways?

I wish I had all the time in the world to finish every book I have ever wanted to read. One day I will get my time to finish all the books I have never had a chance to read yet. End of Watch, Throne of Glass, and A Million Little Pieces are some books I am excited to get to read! I hope they are as good as they seem to be.
