The Heartbreaking Story of “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a novel written by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The novel was released on June 13, 2017, but the book has recently been heavily recommended by those in participation of BookTok. The recommended age range for this novel is 15+ due to the more intimate moments within story, and the genre is focused upon romance and historical fiction.
Within the novel, it focuses upon the past of Evelyn Hugo, a private Hollywood legend. It goes into the topics in which Evelyn Hugo has been silent on during the duration of her career. It showcases her going into great detail about all of her seven marriages. It includes the good, the bad, and the ugly. Hugo goes into moments in which she too would be considered the villain. The love throughout the book is truly both amazing and heart-shattering all in one. All while going through her past, she also gives the author of her biography amazing life lessons. While the point of the book may be confusing during the duration of the novel, the plot twist at the end truly ties the whole book together. The book has moments in which a pause of laughter is needed, and then there are moments in which tears are dropped onto the pages. The book is truly amazing. There are quotes within the book that have had a lasting impact on others. In short, this novel is an amazing read. Even days after finishing, the book is still heavily weighing on my thoughts.
