HBO Max has recently released an apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction television series which officially launched on January 15, 2023. “The Last of Us” television series is based of off the video game “The Last of Us” created by Naughty Dog. The episodes are being released every Sunday until all nine episodes are released. The television show is starring Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel Miller, and Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie Williams.

This series follows both Joel Miller and Ellie Williams throughout their trying journey of finding the cure. While through their journey, they are faced with the death of close friends, infected, and even killers. The unlikely pair do find comfort in one another and develop a father-daughter relationship. All in all, the series so far has followed the game almost exactly. The characters lines are the exact same. Also, the actors are able to truly bring to life already beloved characters. It is amazing to see the fun, rowdy personality of Ellie be brought to life. Although there have been complaints due to the lack of similarities in their looks, the acting is truly breath-taking. The series forces watchers to develop a more personal connection with the characters. This series has watchers, who haven’t played the game, on the edge of their seats. However, those that have are already prepared for deaths and intense action scenes.
