The game Monopoly is one of the most common games ever played. It is known for its very long game that can take hours to finish, but who made this successful game that everyone likes?

A man named, Charles B. Darrow, of Germantown, PA, created Monopoly during The Great Depression in 1934. Darrow showed the board game to the Parker Brothers and years later they sold 5, 000 homemade copies. Before they even showed the board game they rejected the game due to “design errors” and then later in 1935 Monopoly become the best-selling game in America.On December 31, 1935, the board game Monopoly was patented and was translated into 37 languages. These 200 were licensed and localized editions and were sent to 103 countries.

A typical game of Monopoly takes 60 to 90 minutes, but the game can last over 3 hours or longer. If you haven’t played this game, it is definitely recommended!
