Gnomes on the Hot Girl Walk
The Greene Country River Trail follows along the Monongahela River which gives the users of the trail an amazing view. The trail is used by people for jogging, walking, and bicycling. The trail consists smooth, crushed gravel which is maintained by the recreation department. Along the trial, there is information on things such as coal mining, river barges, and benches for sitting. In total, the trail is 7.24 miles long.
Within recent years, social media has created a trend referred to a “hot girl walk” the definition of a hot girl walk is a walk that is taken to help achieve both physical and mental health goals. It is often completed with a good playlist that keeps one motivated and interested. It is simply a romanticized outlook on a walk. However, along the trail, there are gnomes placed by an unknown source. Although hot girl walks within itself is enjoyable, especially with friends, searching for these gnomes have been an extra source. Apparently, there are a total of three, but personally, only two have been found. With the searching of these gnomes, it has provided not only more entertainment, but it has caused more attention to the nature around the trail which has lead to discoveries of paths and more clear views of the river. Overall, it is enjoyable and fun both participating in the hot girl walk and the search for gnomes.
There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the trail, and the trail is exposed to poisonous plants and animals native to the area. There is a Northern Trail Head, Rices Landing, and Southern Trail Head entrance. However, currently the Northern Trail Head entrance is closed due to unforeseen circumstances.
