In Taylor Swift’s newest album “Midnights” her single “Karma” is a growing single, as she also has a version of “Karma” with Ice Spice.
Although I love this song, this song is overplayed on the radio. Although the song has lots of love from the fans I would skip this song, since I’ve heard it so much. A controversial topic is about who the song is about. Whether it is about her old record label or her fallout with Kanye, the song could just be a general message to everyone that karma will not skip you if you did something to put yourself first.
Taylor references as karma to be her best friend, and how she knows she will get what you deserve. This informs people who might not know that you will get repaid for something you did whether it was something good or something bad. One of my favorite lines in the song is “Karma is a cat purring in my lap cause it loves me” because I know Taylor has a love for cats, as well as me, and it makes me fill up with joy when I here Taylor Swift reference cats.
Although I believe Taylor Swift’s “Karma ft. Ice Spice” to be good there are mixed reviews between whether the original or Ice Spice’s version is better. The chorus is still the same in the remix as it is in the original, which I like, but the verses are different. The original is obviously just Swift, but in the remix Ice Spice takes on the verses with different lyrics that are well suited for her genre of music that she produces. I personally like Ice Spice’s lyrics more, but it’s not everyone’s favorite
