‘Already Over” is the brand new single from American singer Mike Shinoda. He is best known for being the rapper as well as occasional producer for the band Linkin Park. Shinoda is also known for being Fort Minor. This new single was just released today, October 6th. It is the first new song of his era.
The teasing for this new single began a month ago, where he posted a cryptic photo debuting a new haircut. And finally, a few weeks later, he announced the new single. The song absolutely slaps; it’s been on repeat all day today. He described the song to be very Linkin Park-esque, which is very true. It’s mainly an alternative rock/power pop song but lyrically sounds like something that he would’ve made for Linkin Park. The song starts with its catchy verses which then lead into the infectious chorus. If you ever decide to give it a listen, it is guaranteed to instantly get stuck in your head after just one or two listens. The best song of this song is definitely the bridge. It feels like part of an intense movie scene, especially the “out of sight, out of mind” part. As someone whose all time favorite band is Linkin Park, hearing this song filled me with happiness. From the lyrics to the production, it’s really the perfect song. The only con of this song is that it’s too short and ends after just two minutes and forty seconds.
Overall, “Already Over” might just be the song of the year. Mike Shinoda never disappoints, and this new era of his might just be the best yet. As he continues to tease more music in interviews and subliminal Instagram-carousel posts, it leaves everyone wondering what is going to come next.
